John Seaberg

Born: October 13, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan


John Seaberg grew up just outside of Detroit. Played tuba and double bass in band and orchestra in the school music program. He started playing at dances and concerts on electric bass during high school. After High School he joined the Musicians Union ( Detroit Local 5). Several years of club work followed. John met Steve Gaines while playing in Rusty Day's band (Detroit). Rusty (of Cactus and Amboy Dukes fame) had a good following and the band was well received. John moved to Oklahoma when Gaines decided to move back home. In Oklahoma Crawdad was started. When Steve joined Lynyrd Skynyrd. John moved to the west coast where he played bass for Big Mama Thornton, Valerie Wellington, Eddie Clearwater, Doug Kershaw,
Charlie Musselwhite, and many others. He moved to Arkansas in 2008 and through a mutual friend met Seth Freeman. Seth and John played together in Judge Parker and during that tiime played on that bands first European tour. Seth and John hit it off musically and decided to form a new version of the Seth Freeman
Band.
